GRG Matriculation Higher Secondary School was established in 1969. The school comes under Matriculation stream and Higher Secondary classes as per the guidelines of Tamil Nadu Government. The school enjoys permanent affiliation up to class XII and is recognized by the Tamil Nadu Government. Education is offered from Kindergarten to Higher Secondary level.

She is the daughter of prominent industrialist and philanthropist, Cav.Dr.G.K Devarajulu and the daughter-in-law of the successful and eminent educationist Sri .G.R. Govindarajulu. On 6th December, 2013 Smt.Gayathri Shivakumar became the correspondent of G R G Matriculation Hr Sec. School. She is an able administrator, well known sports person and alumna of G R G Matric Hr. Sec. School.
